Both President Trump’s supporters and critics believe most
people agree with them. They cite or dismiss polls by comparing with their
circle of acquaintances, who share their presuppositions, of course. With all
of the noise about voter fraud, voter suppression, and ballot manipulation from
the 2016 election, the stage is set for whoever is the loser of the 2020
election to refuse to accept the results as valid. Either way, the constitutional battle
between Executive and Judicial Branches may determine a dramatically changed
course for the future of the US.
