Are you angry this election cycle? Hate Hilary so much you’d
never vote for her? Hate Donald so much you’d never vote for him? Anger is a
secondary emotion triggered by an underlying often unrecognized emotion. Fear
is often the underlying emotion triggering anger. I repeat my life axiom: when
we make decisions based on fear we almost always make the wrong decision. 1
John 4:18 says, “perfect love casts out fear.” 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “God
has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.” What fears are driving anger this
election cycle? I suggest Psalm 72 as a better template for making political
decisions than fear and anger. What decision will nourish justice, compassion,
prosperity and respect that includes the weak and poor equally with the
powerful and wealthy?
